The final project for Fundamentals of Design required the choosing of a folktale and designing the lights, set, and costumes as if it were going to be produced as a play. Pictured above are the costume designs for the two main characters of the show, The Devil and the Young Woman.

In Fundamentals of Design, we were tasked with choosing a song and creating a Cornell Box that captured the essence of that song. I chose "Both Sides Now" by Joni Mitchell.

For my Lighting and Sound Tech final exam, I created a four-minute sound design that required the use of a sound editing software to edit the songs used. In addition, we were required to create a lighting design in Matt Kizer's Virtual Light Lab. Click the image below to view the video!

On this page, you can take a look at the projects, assignments, and designs that I have created and completed throughout the course of my education at the University of Houston. Here's a link to my Resume to view a complete list of the courses I have taken:

Stage Design for the Educator was a class that taught the principles and applications of design in an educational setting. This included using the UIL One-Act Play Unit set to design a set for an assigned play, mine being Overtones by Alice Gerstenberg.

In addition to making preliminary sketches and group plans, we also had to construct a 3-Dimensional Model, as pictured above.

Along with designing the set for Overtones, in Stage Design for the Educator, we also were tasked with creating costumes for the characters in the show.

This included both preliminary sketches and final renderings with swatches attached. For this design, I employed the use of color theory by choosing complimentary colors to coordinate the characters with their counterparts.

The final project for Theatre History consisted of teaching the class with an assigned group on any content that had been covered in the semester. My group decided to make a Loteria game that included the theatrical movements of realism, gothic, romanticism, surrealism, and futurism. I designed and produced the bingo cards using Canva. Included on each card is a picture of the professor for the course, as well as our Director for the School of Theatre and Dance, Dr. Rob Shimko.
