Educational Work

My Teaching Philosophy

The art that is theatre is one of the most definitive versions of collaboration. As an educator, it is my responsibility to provide a safe space for my students in which they are placed in a position where they are capable of achieving success. In the theatre, we share our stories in hopes that we can impact someone else's life by allowing them to find themselves in our art. Creating an environment that will allow students to develop these stories and the worlds they take place in is the destination of this journey. The path, however, is filled with an abundance of opportunities for growth and discovery for the students. We are not just teaching our students to grow as an artist; the collaborative nature of theatre serves as a vessel for the students to learn skills that can be applied throughout every aspect of their lives in the real world. It's all about the kids, and my ultimate goal as a teacher is to provide my students with the resources they need in order to blossom into the best version of themselves.
